Jacob W. Penner
1923 –2007
It
is with sad hearts our family announces the sudden but peaceful passing of our
beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. On Friday, January
12, 2007, at Boundary Trails Health Centre, Jacob W. Penner aged 83 years of
Winkler, MB formerly of Gnadenthal, went to his eternal rest.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his beloved wife, Margaret (nee Klassen) (Krahn) Penner of Winkler; 5 daughters, Mary and Bill Janzen of Grunthal, Margaret and Henry Wiebe of Alymer, ON, Helena Pidur of London, ON, Tina Penner of Kelowna, BC, Sara and Gary Klassen of Winkler; 5 sons, Jake and Helen Penner of Schanzenfeld, John and Joyce Penner of Rainy River, ON, Peter Penner of Steinbach, Abe Penner of Winnipeg, Dave and Martha Penner of Schanzenfeld; 35 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren; 4 stepdaughters; 7 stepsons and their families.
He was predeceased by his parents Isbrandt and Maria Penner (nee Wall); his 1st wife, Helena (nee Sawatzky) (1996); 1 daughter in infancy; 2 granddaughters; 1 sister and 3 brothers.
Funeral service held on Thursday, January 18, 2007 at 2:00 pm at German Old Colony Mennonite Church in Hochfeld with Rev. Abe Rempel officiating. Interment followed at the Chortitz Old Colony Mennonite Church Cemetery.
