On
Saturday, January 20, 2007 at Salem Home, Isaac W. Bergen aged 91 years of
Winkler formerly of Morden and Crystal City, MB went to his eternal rest.
Isaac W. Bergen was born on May 25, 1915 in Neu Hoffnung to Jacob R. and Maria Bergen (nee Wiebe). He was raised and educated in the same area. After Grade 8, he spent time working with his father and at various other jobs. He married Tina Dyck on Oct. 20, 1938. They lived with his parents for several years during which time their oldest daughters were born.
Isaac and Tina moved to the Crystal City-Clearwater area in 1946 to gain more opportunities in farming. Together, they raised four daughters and two sons while living in several homes in the district until 1980. During their retirement in Morden, they spent some time traveling, making new friends and renewing old friendships. Isaac was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather whose life revolved around his family, church and farm.
Isaac’s health deteriorated over the last several years prompting him to accept increasing levels of care in Altona, and finally at Salem in Winkler. January 20 he passed away peacefully with family members at his side.
