Aganetha “Agnes” Enns (nee Reimer)

1917 – 2006

On Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, Agnes Enns (nee Reimer) of Salem Home in Winkler, aged 89 years went to her eternal rest.

Agnes was born to John and Aganetha Reimer in Carrot River, SK on July 16, 1917. After moving to Morden in 1918, she grew up and eventually was baptized in the Morden Bergthaler Mennonite Church.  On November 3, 1938, she married George W. Enns of Greenfarm. They lived and farmed there until 1956 except for a short time spent in Niverville, MB and then they moved to Sunny Acres, just west of Winkler.  They moved into town in 1971 where they resided at several locations and most recently at Cedar estates.  After George passed away, she moved to Salem Home where she remained until her death.

She leaves to mourn her passing her 3 daughters, Judith and Dan Sawatzky of Winkler, Norma and John Pauls of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Merle and Vic Huebner of New York, New York; 3 sons Don and Kathy Enns of Birds Hill, Wayne and Elaine Enns of Winnipeg, Dave and Ray Enns of Libau; 14 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Kathy Ginter of Morden; 1 brother, Phil and Anne Reimer of Ridgeway, ON and 1 sister-in-law, Lil Reimer of Morden as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She was predeceased by her son, Johnny on August 7, 1956; her husband George on December 22, 2003 as well as 1 sister and 4 brothers.

Funeral service was held on Saturday, January 27, at 2:00 pm at Winkler Bergthaler Mennonite Church.  Interment followed at Winkler Cemetery.
