Mary (Braun) Goertzen (nee Fehr)

Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at Salem Home, Mary Goertzen (nee Fehr) aged 99
years, of Winkler formerly of Plum Coulee, MB, passed away peacefully.
Mary Fehr was born on October 15, 1906 to David J. and Elizabeth Fehr in the Haskett district. She was the fourth oldest in a family of 19 children. She attended Reichenfeld public school. Mary was baptized on the confession of her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as her Saviour and Lord and joined the Sommerfeld Mennonite Church.
On July 5, 1934, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. John F. Braun of the Plum Coulee area. He died on August 15, 1975. On June 20, 1976, Mary married Mr. George Goertzen. He died on May 22, 1992.
Mary resided the rest of her life in Winkler and the last approximate 2 ½ years in the Salem Home. She had a very busy life on the farm, however during her lifetime, she always found time to knit scarves and socks for Faith Missions.
She leaves to mourn her passing her 2 sisters, Susan Letkeman and Anne Boehling, of Winkler; 1 sister-in-law, Helen Fehr (Henry E.) of Morden and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her first husband, John F. Braun (1975) and her second husband, George Goertzen (1992).
Funeral service was held on Thursday, September 7, 2006 at 2:00 pm at Winkler Bergthaler Mennonite Church with Rev. David Friesen and Rev. Menno Janzen officiating. Interment followed at Plum Coulee Cemetery.
