He was baptized on May 18, 1970 on the confession of his faith at the Blumenfeld Old Colony Church by Bishop Jacob Penner. On August 26, 1973 he married Tina Wieler. They briefly lived in Austin and then moved to Blumenfeld where they worked side by side on their beef operation. Their son, Paul was born while they resided in Blumenfeld.
Henry loved life and all that it had to offer him. His love and appreciation of horses was evident throughout his life. He spent countless hours riding his horses and training his teams. Building buggies for other people was a hobby which he also enjoyed. He was always interested in building and welding for the betterment of their farm. He spent many hours in his shop using the talents that God gave him. The gift of music, both singing and playing instruments was another way Henry would reach out to people, spreading god’s word. Henry began using this talent at a young age. The first group that he was a part of was the Western Gentlemen. Later, he joined Homeland Harmony and he was currently enjoying music with a group called Second Chance. He lived a healthy, happy and full life until his tragic death on July 15, 2006.
