It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear husband, dad and grandpa, Frank K. Letkeman on January 30, 2006 at his home in Winkler, MB at the age of 80 years.

He will be deeply missed by his wife of 53 years, Margaret; Diana (Harold) Falk, Brent, Janine (Mike) Wall, & Jeff; John (Helen) Letkeman, Jenelle, Derek & Denae; Judy (Ike) Klassen, Carissa, Jodi & Jeremy; Darlene (Bernie) Goertzen, Brad, Jenn & Kim; Corrie (Cory) Kehler, Ryan, Robyn & Madison; sister Helen Letkemann; brother Jake (Tina) Letkemann & family; sister in-law Lynn Letkeman-Voth & family; 4 brother in-laws, 5 sister in-laws, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents Franz H. & Katarina (nee Kroeker); brother Henry (Lynn); sister Tina Letkeman

Frank was born May 3, 1925 near St. Ann MB.  In 1927, the family moved to Roseisle, MB where he attended the Roseisle school for seven years.  In 1938, they moved to a farm near Graysville, MB where he finished his schooling.  He was baptized in 1945.  He attended Elim Bible School from 1946 – 1950 where he developed many life-long friendships.  On June 28, 1952, he married his best friend, Margaret Sawatzky.  Together they farmed in the Graysville area.  He also worked for Murta Farms for 3 years.  He was in pastoral leadership at the Graysville Mennonite Church as deacon from 1954 to 1965 and as pastor from 1965 to 1975.

In 1975, they sold the family farm at Graysville and moved near Winkler.  Here he worked at Little Morden Service; drove school bus for Garden Valley School Division for almost 12 years and the Salem Van from fall of 1988 to fall of 1997.  He was also a hog farmer for nine years.

Frank was a true servant.  He lived his life for others.  He loved unconditionally and was a role model to his children, grandchildren & many others.

In October 2005, Frank was diagnosed with terminal cancer and the next three months were spent treasuring our time together, attempting to keep him comfortable and building more memories.  He was a valiant patient, quietly and patiently accepting his loss of independence, and his difficult journey to the end.   He was admitted to the Boundary Trails Health Centre on November 3rd.  During his time in the hospital we as family moved dad and mom to Garden Park Estates in Winkler.  On December 22nd we were able to take him home for Christmas and his #1 nurse (mom) together with the help of his children, cared for him at their home until his passing on January 30th.    His faith in God never wavered and he left us a legacy which will never die.
