David Vincent Brown
1930 – 2006
On March 4, 2006 at the Boundary Trails Hospital in Winkler, Dave Brown, at the age of 75, went to be with Jesus, his Lord and Saviour.
Left to cherish his memory are his son Keith and wife Cheryl, her two children Travis and Heather, his son Trevor and wife Charlene and grand-children Calvin and Shaina, two brothers Lewis and Bert.
He was predeceased by his wife Helen (nee Friesen) on February 5, 2000. Dave and Helen were married on August 21, 1955 in the Bergthaler Church by Rev. Isaac P. F. Friesen (his father in-law). He is also predeceased by his parents Isaac and Katherine Brown, one brother, one sister and brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law.
Dad had a very strong love for the Lord and a longing to experience the Lord’s return for the Church. It is this love that has been passed on as a legacy and is now shared by family and many friends.
He was a school teacher for a total of thirty-eight years. Twenty-eight of which he taught at Garden Valley Collegiate in Winkler. He was always very comfortable among young people, and enjoyed these relationships in and out of the classroom.
Funeral service was held Friday, March 10, 2006 at 2:00 pm at Winkler EMM Church with Rev. Dale Dueck and Rev. Wilbert Friesen officiating. Interment followed at Winkler Cemetery.
Special thanks go out to pastors Dale Dueck and Wilbert Friesen. We also thank Dr. C. Woelk and the Boundary Trails staff, as well as Wiebe Funeral Home for their kindness and courtesy.
We wish to express our heartfelt appreciation to all friends and family for the food, visits, encouragement and for holding us up in prayer during this time. God Bless you all.
