Arthur John Stobbe

1936 - 2006

It is with immense sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of our beloved “Pops” Arthur John Stobbe (Art) of Winnipeg, formerly of Winkler, on Friday, January 20^th, 2006 at the St. Boniface Hospital at the young age of 69.

Art will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Kay (nee Harder); mother Helena; children Darren and his wife Liz, Lisa and Trevor; grandchildren Mikyla, Samantha, Paige, and Jessica; brothers Neil, Don and his wife Edna, Ed and his wife Kathy; nieces Tammy, Marnie, and nephews Kevin, Grant, and Dwight.

He was predeceased by his father Cornelius Stobbe and his infant brother Bert.

Art was a hard working man who devoted his life to his children.  He spent many years building the family cottage which had a revolving door for family and friends alike and never turned anyone away in need.  His most cherished role was as a Father and Grandfather.  He adored his grandchildren and they filled his heart with a great joy and pride.  Art embodied warmth and generosity and quickly earned the respect of all who came to know him.  Dad, “Pops” you will be missed beyond words by so many.

Funeral service was held on Saturday January 28, 2006 at 2:00 pm at Wiebe Funeral Chapel 1050 Thornhill St. in Morden with Pastors Dave Harder and John Vandenberg officiating.  Interment followed at Winkler Cemetery.
