Andrew Stephen Gislason

1915 – 2006

On Monday, August 28, 2006 and 2 days before his 91^st birthday at Pembina-Manitou Health Centre, Andy Gislason, of Manitou, MB went to his eternal rest.

Andy farmed in the 1-6 district until retiring to Morden.  He married Jo Vodden in 1974 and together they enjoyed family, friends, traveling and fishing, dancing and playing the slots.

Andy was a happy, kind-hearted individual who was well liked by all he met.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Jo (nee Yake) of Manitou; 3 sons, Darrel and Kathy and their son, Kyle; Rocky and Eileen Vodden and their children, Matthew and Nicholas; Sam and Diana and their children, Nolan and Brendon.

He was predeceased by his mother Margaret (nee Olafson) and father John M. Gislason; his first wife Sigrid (nee Olafson) in 1973 and 10 sisters and brothers.

Memorial service was held on Thursday, August 31, 2006 at 2:00 pm at Wiebe Funeral Chapel in Morden.  Interment followed at 1-6 Icelandic Cemetery.
