Walter William Bollenbach

1926 - 2002

With deep sadness we announce the passing of Walter Bollenbach, after a brief battle with cancer, at the Boundary Trails Health Centre on Monday, December 2, 2002.

Walter was born at home near Thornhill, Mb on November 10, 1926.

He lived on the family homestead, west of Morden, from 1952 - 1982.  He and his wife Lynn celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary this past summer.

Walter spent his free time volunteering in the community with such things as St. Paul's United Church, the Morden Recreation Centre, Minnewasta Golf Course and this Elks Club.  One of Walter's talents was than he could fix anything that was broken.  His favorite pastimes were fishing "up the river", hunting (and all its related activities), playing cards and golfing.  He enjoyed having coffee with his friends, making soup and in his later years "farming" on a smaller scale in his garden.

Through his life, Dad's generosity touched the lived of many people.  In his final days that generosity was returned by many friends and family members who came to visit.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Lenora "Lynn" Bollenbach (nee Mayert) of Morden; 2 daughters Sandra Bollenbach and her husband John Amadio of Toronto and their children Adam and Sean; Sharon Bollenbach of Toronto; 2 sons Michael Bollenbach and his children Christopher and April of Calgary; Jeffrey and Rhonda Bollenbach and their children Averi, and Olivia of Winnipeg; 4 sisters Ruth Mudge of Hamilton; Lydia and George Andrew of Morden; Helen Borthwick of Palm Desert, CA; Marion and Allan Dudgeon of Morden; 2 brothers Herman and Jean Bollenbach of Lac du Bonnet, Mb; and Harold Bollenbach of Morden and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by one brother Lawrence.

Cremation has taken place.  Memorial service was held on Friday December 5, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Paul's United Church with Wayne Larstone officiating.   Ash interment followed at the Hillside Cemetery, Morden, Mb.

We wish to express our heartfelt thanks to all, for their support and friendship.  Our thanks also goes out to the staff at the Boundary Trails Health Center for their sincere kindness and excellent care.
