Tina Thiessen(nee Wiebe)
1938 - 2002
Cancer consumed her body; her life and soul belong to the Lord.
At 13 she acknowledged her need of a Saviour; at 17 she was baptized, andmarried
at 18 to Peter Thiessen. Together they had 8 children (the 3rdson, who was
mentally handicapped, is now with the Lord). Though life presented many
challenges to her, she used them to bring her closer to the Lord. She died as
she lived - a testimony to God’s grace. Her fourweeks in palliative care were
filled with prayer, praise, and songthrough a haze of pain and drugs. There were
no complaints, no anguish
of
soul, no laments, no curses. Her mind was on heaven. We will miss her
for
now. The family thanks the staff at the Boundary Trails Palliative
Care Ward - you were professional, but more than that - you
cared.Funeral service was held Saturday December 14, 2002, 2:00pm at Zion
Mennonite Church, Rev. Bill Thiessen officiating. Interment followed at the
Zion Church Cemetery. Donations may be made to Boundary Trails Health Centre
Foundation, Palliative Care.
