Robert Treichel
1934 – 2002
But
when kindness and love of God our Saviour appeared, he saved us, not because of
righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the
washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us
generously through Jesus Christ our Saviour, so that, having been justified by
His grace, we might become heirs of having the hope of eternal life. Titus
3:4-7 (NIV)
On March 19, 2002 the Lord in his wisdom took home into his eternal glory out dear husband, father, brother, and uncle, Robert Treichel at the age of 67 years. Robert leaves behind his wife Rosemary and her three children. His daughter Maureen, 2 sisters and 1 brother – Sophia and her husband Ted, Martha and her husband Kenneth, Bert (Albert) and his wife Shirley, his sister-in-law Dorothy and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Ida and her husband Gus, and by his brother Al (Adolph). Born on August 24, 1934, Robert lived all of his life in the Morden area. The Treichel family moved to SW of Morden in 1929, one year after emigrating from Poland. Robert was the member of the family that spent the most time helping his parents with farming and eventually took over the family farm and continued farming until his retirement last year. Robert thoroughly enjoyed farm life and was also a keen deer, partridge and duck hunter. He will be remembered by all for his sense of humor, his light-hearted manner and his ability to make you smile. Robert will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his family, his neighbors and many old and new friends. Knowing that he is with this Lord and Saviour is our great comfort. We express our heartfelt thanks to his many friends and members of the community for their love, and the continual care and support that was extended to him. Thank you also to the Darlingford United Church Women for your support and services with lunch arrangements.
