Peter Neufeld

1943 – 2002

Peter R. Neufeld was born in Winkler on June 16, 1943 to his parents Abram V. and Margaret (nee Reimer) Neufeld. He grew up in Hochfeld Manitoba, the youngest of a family of three children.

Peter was predeceased by his parents, but survived by Alice his loving wife of 35 years. He will be deeply missed by his twin sons Alden and Allen along with his daughter-in-laws Krista and Catherine. He is also survived by his brother; Abe and his wife Marion and one sister Marge and her husband Martin Penner. He leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews and many more friends.

Pete accepted Christ at a young age and late re-dedicated his life to the Lord in 1965. Peter was a hardworking gifted man who enjoyed socializing with family and friends and was known for his practical jokes. Pete loved the outdoors and looked forward to packing up the trailer and heading to the campground, a passion he pursued each summer.

On January9, 2002 Peter fell ill on his regular route through the United States. He passed away at his home on August 8, 2002 with his family and close friends by his side.

Throughout Pete’s battle with cancer his testimony never ceased to waiver, despite the pain he endured. While he was unable to participate and help others the way he used to, he refrained from showing anger or complaint, choosing to find his strength in Jesus.

Funeral service was held on Tuesday, August 13, 2002 at 2:00pm at the Morden E.M.M.Church with Rev. Dan Koop officiating. Interment followed at the Hillside Cemetery, Morden.

Peter will be greatly missed but we will all hold dear our memories of him in our hearts.
