Muriel Adelaide Stevenson (nee Johnson)

Beloved
wife of the late Wes Stevenson, passed away at the Boyne Lodge in Carman, Mb. on
Tuesday March 26, 2002, at the age of 79.
Muriel was born December 15, 1922 in Winnipeg, and was baptized on February 4, 1923 in the St. John's Lutheran Church, Rosenfeld. Muriel was raised at Gretna, Sewell and Graysville. She attended Graysville School. In 1940, Muriel married Wes Stevenson, they resided in Winnipeg while Wes was in the RCAF. Later they moved to Graysville, and in 1948 they moved 1 mile west of Carman, where she resided until 1996.
Muriel commenced work at Carman Pharmacy in 1953, and then worked in the Drug Store at Carman Co-op until her retirement. Shortly after Muriel retired, she had a severe heart attack, then Parkinson's Disease took over her body.
Muriel will be remembered as a very special "grandma" as she loved her grandsons Brian and David so much. She was a special Mom, and a "great" grandma to Graham, whom she only knew for such a short time, but treasured him and looked forward to his visits.
Muriel was predeceased by her husband Wes on July 6, 1995, parents Anton & Augusta Johnson, sister Verna Pokrant, brothers Bill & his wife Edith, Art & his wife Josie, Ed & his wife Nan, Tony and Harvey Johnson.
She is survived by her daughter Marj and son-in-law Bill Stewart of Carman, grandsons Brian & his wife Susan of Morden, David of Carman, great grandson Graham of Inglis, 2 sisters-in-law Margaret (Tony) Johnson, and Audrey (Harvey) Johnson Janz.
Funeral service was held Tuesday April 2, 2002, 2:30pm at Carman United Church, Rev. Harold Kenyon officiating. Interment followed at the Greenwood Cemetery, Carman. Memorial Donations may be made in Muriel's memory to the Boyne Lodge, Box 1644, Carman, Mb. R0G 0J0.
