Maria Toews

1906 - 2003 

On Thursday August 21, 2003 at the Salem Home, Winkler, Maria Toews (nee Regier), age 97 years, formerly of Homewood, went to her eternal rest.

She was predeceased by husband William "Bill" Toews in 1986; daughter Lena and husband Abe Schellenberg, son Abe and wife Lydia Toews, 1 son in infancy, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, 2 sisters-in-law and 1 brother-in-law.

She leaves to mourn her passing her 1 daughter Mary and husband Peter Braun of Carman, 9 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, 1 brother and 1 sister.

Funeral service was held Monday August 25, 2003, 2:30pm at Winkler Bergthaler Mennonite Church, Rev. Dave Friesen and Pastor Ben Pauls officiating.  Interment followed at the Winkler Cemetery.  Donations may be made to M.C.C. or to Canadian Food Grains Bank.
