Leona Toews (nee Heppner)
1917 – 2005

Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at the Boundary Trails Health Centre, Leona Toews
(nee Heppner) aged 88 years, of Morden, MB went to her eternal rest.
Leona attended Zion School near Morden. As a young woman she worked in Winnipeg, and on Sundays went to Madchen Heim for fellowship and spiritual support. In 1940 she married Peter H. Toews, and after farming in the Parkhill School District for about 30 years they retired in Morden. They enjoyed traveling and visiting family. Later she worked at the Thrift Shop and sang in a ladies group.
She leaves to mourn her passing 2 daughters; Leona and Irvin Peters of Winkler, MB; Ann and Brian Dalgarno of Airdire, AB; 4 sons; Richard and Debbie of North Burnaby, BC; Ron and Lois of Calgary, AB; Don and Laura of Winnipeg, MB; Doug of Winnipeg, MB. She also leaves to mourn 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; sisters Viola, Sue and Kathy; brothers Peter, Ed and Albert.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Peter H. Toews (1988); 3 sisters; Anne, Irene and Bertha; 2 brothers John and Art.
Funeral service was held on Saturday, February 12, 2005 at 1:30 pm at Morden Alliance Church with Rev. Morris Vincent and Rev. Jake Buhler officiating. Interment followed at Hillside Cemetery.
If friends so desire donations may be made to the Legion House or to the Winkler Bible Camp.
