Lorry Kristin Einarson
1925 – 2002
Peacefully
at the Boundary Trails Health Centre, with his family at his side, Larry
Einarson, of Morden formerly of the 1-6 District, passed away at the age of 77
years.
He was predeceased by his parents Stefan and Staffania Einarson, sister Ingibjorg “Loa” Isfeld in 1998, brother Bennie Einarson in 1998.
Lorry and his brother Ben farmed in the 1-6 area until they retired to Morden in the mid-seventies. Larry was a farmer at heart and loved 1-6 and the people who lived there. Everyone helps each other and he liked being a part of that. He remained active there in many local affairs.
Lorry was a member of Morden Legion and several on the Board of Directors for a number of years. He was an active member of Morden Curling Club, Minnewasta Gold Club, Morden Friendship Centre, and St. Paul’s United Church. He was a quiet, gentle man, honest, reliable, hard working and down to earth. He was always supportive and never one to judge anyone. Larry had a host of good friends and neighbors with whom he always enjoyed a good game of bridge, cribbage, whist or helping with bingo. He was a very favorite uncle and great uncle to his many nieces and nephews and gave freely of his time and his talents whenever and wherever he was needed.
Lorry leaves to mourn his passing and to cherish wonderful memories his sister, Julia Fournier Latter of Winnipeg, brother Tryggvi and Frances of Morden, brother-in-law Eythor (Loa) Isfeld of Minnetonas and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Boundary Trails Health Centre for their compassion, care, and support shown to Larry over the past three months.
Funeral service was held Thursday December 5, 2002 at 1:00pm at the St. Paul’s United Church, Morden with Jeri Bjornson officiating. Interment followeded in the 1-6 Icelandic Cemetery. Donations may be made to Morden Legion Walkway or to Boundary Trails Health Centre Foundation.
