Kenneth Andrich
1949 - 2002
Kenneth
Andrich was born in Winnipeg on April 4, 1949 to Nellie & Walter Andrich. Ken
attended the Kinsmen School. Later he was employed at Arch Industries and
Skill’s Unlimited.
In 1979, Ken lost his mother as well as a brother, Fred. This meant many changes for the family especially for Ken. In 1983, ken made his home in Winkler with Maria and Peter Neufeld. Ken adopted Mr. Peters (Maria’s dad) as his grandfather. It saddened him greatly when Mr. Peters died. Henry and Helen Klassen accepted Ken into their home in September 1993. For the next seven years, this was his home sharing it with Keith Peters. Olga and Leonard Wolfe invited Ken to come live with them in 2000. This was his family til Ken’s sudden passing on Saturday, May 11, 2002. The Wolfe’s are experiencing a great sadness.
At the time Ken moved to Winkler, work awaited him at Gateway Resources then known as Valley Rehab. He enjoyed his work there for almost 19 years. Ken was a real handi-man. Where there was a need – Ken took care of it. Recycling, packaging, taking out garbage, getting potatoes to be peeled all were part of his assignments. Wherever and with whomever – Ken was pleasant and cheerful – a real asset.
Kenneth had several hobbies – concerning trains. His father was a former Railway Engineer with C.N.R. Ken benefited by enjoying train rides with his Dad. He owned several train sets. He also collected train magazines – Pfahl’s Drug Store will miss his visits to pick up the latest edition. Planes and racing cars also were enjoyed by him.
Ken was observant of nature, people, animals and a real weather man. If he wasn’t adopted – he’d soon adopt someone. He had a dog, Brandy, when he grew up – which he was very fond of. Enjoyed biking and walking which often led him to a ball game.
Ken was a faithful attender of church and Sunday School. He would arrive bright and early. He enjoyed singing and being part of the church family.
Ken leaves to mourn his sister, Debra, brother Richard and wife Deb and their children, David, Kevin, Robert, Alex and wife Tera and their daughter Jasmine and many friends.
Ken was predeceased by his mother in 1979, brother Fred in 1979 and his dad in 1996.
Kenneth rest in peace.
See you in the morning!
