Justina Banman

 1922 – 2002

Justina Banman of Winkler, MB, formerly of Elm Creek passed away peacefully on March 16, 2002 at Boundary Trails Health Centre.  She was born on May 31, 1922 in Blemenfeld, MB to Isaac and Katherina Fehr (nee Janzen).  She was baptized upon confession of her faith on May 31, 1939 and joined the Sommerfelder Church and later the E.M.M.C.  On October 22, 1939 she married John Banman and was a faithful wife for 48 years and 8 months until Dad’s death.  She was predeceased by her husband John on June 30, 1988 and daughter-in-law Laverne in 1996.  She is survived by three daughters and five sons: John of Elm Creek, Tina and Ken Schaak of Winkler, Jake and Carol of Elm Creek, Elsie and Isaac Bergen of Elm Creek, Ike and Elsie of Newton, Jessie and Henry Funk of Penhold, Alberta, Abe and Shirley of Elm Creek, and Gred and Kim of Elm Creek; thirty grandchildren and forty eight great grandchildren.  She is also survived by five sisters, one brother and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 20, 2002 at the E.M.M.C in Winkler, MB.  Pastor Dale Dueck and Pastor Jeff Banman officiated.  Interment followed at the WIngham Cemetery.  Donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
