John H. Wiebe
1924 - 2004
It
is with deep regret that we announce the passing of John H. Wiebe on Sunday,
August 8, 2004 at the Boundary Trails Hospital.
He will be missed by his wife of 52 years, Margaret Wiebe, Sons Myron and Bruce,
daughter in law Lori and Grandson Jeffrey.
Dad also leaves to mourn his passing; Ed and Laura Wiebe, Kathleen Doerksen,
Doris
Summers, Jim and Margaret Wiebe, Wesley and Anne Wiebe, Irene McGrath, Violet
and George Wolfe, Leslie and Esther Janzen, Clifford and Alice Janzen, Mervin
and
Doreen Janzen, Myrtle Wall and their families.
We wish to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the many friends that expressed
their affection and support during the past few weeks. Dad’s spirit always
lifted when an old friend would come to reminisce about the old days. His life
was truly a testament to the positive impact one man’s life can have on others.
He will long be remembered for his commitment to helping those in need, one
person at a time. We would also like to thank the doctors, nurses and hospital
staff for the loving care that they provided to Dad during the past few weeks.
As a husband and father he expressed his love through actions more so than
through words. Whether it was his dedication to work, so he could provide more
for his family than his parents were able to provide. The camping trips with the
family and the skill that we developed at putting up the tent-trailer to beat
the advancing rain clouds or swarms of mosquitoes. The never-ending and
unquestioning support for a ceramic business that took on a life of its own or
the many and varied activities of his two son’s. While never an expert in the
kitchen we will miss the large bowls of chicken noodle soup that were often a
meal in itself.
In his later years his own household projects were replaced by those of his son.
The time they spent cutting boards too short, remeasuring and recutting are
firmly embedded in memory. They used the name Good Enough Construction Company
to aptly describe their projects.
Dad had so much more to give and much was lost by his early passing. We will
however take the knowledge and experiences of the generations now gone and pass
these on to his grandson.
Memorial service was held on Thursday, August 12, 2004 at St. Paul’s United
Church, Morden at 2:00 pm with Rev. Doug Craig officiating.
In lieu of flowers we request donations be made to the Boundary Trails Hospital.
Wiebe Funeral Chapel, Morden in care of arrangements.
