1957 - 2003
On March 18, 2003, it was
the will of our heavenly Father to take our husband, father and brother home to
his eternal rest.
Johann was born in Mexico on April 16, 1957 to his parents, Wilhelm and Elisabeth (Rempel) Wiebe. On May 15, 1978, upon confession of his faith that Jesus Christ was his Redeemer, he was baptized by Bishop Frank Banman and became a member of the Old Colony Church in Mexico. On June 25, 1978 Johann Wiebe and Katherina Enns were joined in holy matrimony.
In August of 2002, he began to experience severe headaches, which were as a result of a tumour in his head. Despite numerous radiation treatments, and 2 surgeries, the tumour continued to grow. On March 18, 10:45pm he passed away peacefully at Boundary Trails Health Centre. He reached an age of 45 years.
He leaves to mourn his wife Katharina, son Willie, daughter Margaretha, son Benny, 3 brothers, 4 sisters and families. He was predeceased by his parents and 2 sisters.
An Old Colony funeral was held Sunday March 23, 2003, 2:00pm, at the Reinlander Church, Winkler, Rev. Henry Rempel and Rev. John Wiebe officiating. Interment followed at the Chortitz Church Cemetery.
We as a family will miss him greatly in the days to come but also are thankful that the Lord has relieved him from his long and difficult illness. We mourn but not as those who have no hope but believe that through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ he has gone to his eternal rest. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our relatives and friends for their support, to each one who took Johann to Winnipeg for appointments, and to everyone who brought meals and supported us in prayer. We are also thankful for the excellent care given to us by the doctors and nurses in Winnipeg and also at Boundary Trails Health Centre. - The Family.
