On Saturday February 16, 2002, at the Boundary Trails Health
Centre, Jacob P. Martens, age 82 years, of Winkler, formerly of Rosengart, Mb,
went to his eternal rest.
He leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife Helena Martens (nee Goertzen); 2 sons Bill and Tina of Thornhill, Harry and Anna of Kaleida, 2 daughters Susan and Henry Froese of Elm Creek, Martha and Jim Thiessen of Winkler, 13 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by 2 children in infancy, 2 sisters, and 4 brothers.
Funeral service was held on Wednesday February 20, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at the Winkler Sommerfeld Mennonite Church, with Rev. Abe Heppner officiating. Interment followed at the Winkler Cemetery.
