Jack Bourne Russell

1909 – 2004

Peacefully, on Sunday February 1, 2004 at age 94, Jack Russell went to be with his Heavenly Father.

Jack was born on Inkster Street in Winnipeg on May 26, 1909, son of Leonard Alfred Russell and Ellen Bourne (Russell) Collins, who emigrated from England. Jack had a brother Leonard and a sister Charlotte.

Jack was predeceased by his wife Laura (nee Compton). They were married on September 25, 1940 and lived on the farm near Darlingford for 57 years. Laura and Jack spent many winters with sister Lillian and Herb in Oxnard, California, and took other trips to Arizona.

Jack loved to golf and had a golf cart and a membership at the Manitou Golf Course.

Jack will be greatly missed by many nephews and nieces, cousins and many friends.

Funeral service was held on Thursday, February 5, 2004 at Wiebe Funeral Chapel in Morden at 11:00 am with Rev. Vincent Morris and Rev. Hugh Morrow officiating. Interment followed at the Miami Cemetery.
