Gerald Blaine Bergen

1961 - 2004

We regret to announce the sudden passing of Gerald Blaine Bergen on September 12 at his home in Winkler. Gerald was a husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was born in Morris, Manitoba on February 5, 1961. Gerald was five years old when he moved to Winkler with his family. He gave his life to Jesus when he was 12 and was baptized as an adult in 1994.

Gerald met the love of his life, Carol, and they were married on his 22nd birthday in 1983. In their marriage they were blessed with two children.

Gerald is remembered by his wife Carol Elaine (nee Reimer), his daughter Holly, and his son Nicolas.

In the Bergen family, he is remembered by his parents Peter and Sadie Bergen, one sister Mil Buchannon (Bruce), two brothers, Rick (Adela), and Doug (Naomi), as well as their families.

In the Reimer family, he is remembered by Esther Reimer (mother-in-law), Melinda Hamm (John), Jim Reimer (Sarah), Sherry Friesen (Abe), Brenda Heinrichs, Trevor Heinrichs, as well as their families.

A celebration of his life was held on September 16 at the Grace Mennonite Church with burial following at the Winkler Cemetery.
