July 8, 2002 at the Victoria General Hospital in Winnipeg, MB, George Martens,
aged 89 years, of Winnipeg, formerly of Winkler, MB passed away.
He was survived by his loving wife Helen (nee Unrau) Martens, 2 daughters; Beverly Fehr of Winnipeg; Elaine and Michael Filkins of Jasper, Georgia; 2 sons Harvey Martens, LA; Ronald and Mary Martens of St. Helen; 8 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 10, 2002 at Wiebe Funeral Chapel, Winkler at 1:00pm with Pastor Richard Quiring & Rev. Mike Filkins officiating. Interment followed at the Winkler Cemetery.
