Frank J Driedger

1920 - 2003

On Saturday December 27, 2003, at  Salem Home, Winkler MB. Frank Driedger aged 83 years went to his eternal rest. He leaves to mourn his passing  his wife, Annie of 53 years, son Bill (wife Alice, children Jeffery & Lesley), son Henry (wife Jackie, children Tammy (husband Jason & their son Isaac), Clark & Daniel), son Jake (wife Connie, children Jordan, Stephan, & Jasmine), 5 brothers, & 4 sisters.

He is predeceased by 2 brothers, 1 sister, & several-in-laws.

Frank was born on January 6, 1920 on a farm near Gretna. He was baptized May 14, 1940 by Bishop Peter G. Toews.

In 1922 the family moved to the village of Neuhorst were he grew up & also received his education.

In 1950 he met and married his bride Annie Janzen. They resided in Neuhorst were they farmed & raised a family of 3 boys until they moved and retired to Winkler in 1990.

Frank was an avid spectator and participant in the world of sports. He was frequently seen at hockey and baseball games as well as the curling rink. He encouraged his son’s and drove them to many if not all skating rinks and baseball diamonds.

Farming was also a big part of his life.

In June 1999 Franks suffered a stroke. After two years at home with his illness he went to the Salem Home. Here is where he spent his last two years.

He was loved and will be sadly missed by many.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Blumenort Church in Rosetown with Rev. Peter D Zacharias officiating. Internment followed at the Neuhorst Cemetery.
