Elizabeth Jean Morrow

1927 – 2002

After struggling with cancer, with her family by her side, Jean passed away.  She will be remembered and sadly missed by her son David (Brenda), daughter-in-law Nancy (the late Ross Morrow), son Robert (Debora) and by her daughter Valerie (Dave). As well ten grandchildren: Dena, Carrie (Dave), Jim, Krystal, Bill (Ross), Dwayne, Heather, Douglas (Robert), and Kellie and Jerri (Valerie).  She was also blessed with 8 special great grandchildren.

 

Jean leaves to mourn her brother Murray (Alice) Nichol and sister Catherine (Bill) Grayson, and in-laws Ruth Nichol, Betty and Gordon Sager, Helen and Earl McKinney, Hughie and Rose Morrow, Bernice Lewis and mother in-law Olive Morrow.

She was predeceased by her husband Elgin (1991), her son Ross (1998), her great-grandchild Reed (1999), her brothers William (1994), Dave (1942), and in laws Elmer (1994) and Alice Morrow (1989), Merle Morrow (1998) and Jack Lewis (1999).

 

As well Jean leaves to mourn many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends from near and far who will miss her dearly.

 

Jean was born on August 13, 1927 at Bateman, Saskatchewan and raised on the family farm in Darlingford, Manitoba.  After completing school there she taught in Hullet and Woodlake Schools.  She met Elgin Morrow and they were married October 1, 1949. 

Jean spent many years volunteering in Darlingford as devoted Sunday School teacher and after moving to Morden she continued with community service at Morden Tabor Home, United Church group and Morden widows’ group. 

 

Urn bearers were Jim and Joyce Barron and honorary pallbearers were Audrey Lone, Gail Maxwell, Ivadell Sigurdson, Pam Maxwell, and Bill Lone.

 

Cremation has already taken place.  The funeral service was held at Wiebe’s Funeral Chapel in Morden and as per Jean’s wishes, the cremains will rest in Chapel Cemetery along side her husband Elgin. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Boundary Trails Palliative Care Unit P.O. Box 2000 Winkler, Mb R6W 1H8. 

 

We would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to everyone for

the messages of sympathy, the floral tributes, memorial donations, and gifts

of food brought to the home during Jean's stay in the hospital and at the

time of the death of our beloved Mother and Grandmother.  May God bless all

of your for your kindness.
