Edith "Ridley" Patterson

1911 - 2002

Edith Luverne Rouse was born to Harris O. Rouse and Mattie Snyder Rouse on June 6, 1911.  She was the 6th child in her family.  Her mother passed away when she was 4 years old, her growing up years were with her sister and brother.

She married Clifford C. Ridley on October 30, 1927.  They had 2 children, Audrey Bernice and Lyle Robert.  They moved to Morden in 1937.  She worked as a lab assistant at Morden Research Station until 1973.

Later on in life she married William Patterson of Maida, North Dakota.

She loved flowers and gardening, boating and fishing, and enjoyed knitting and crocheting and reading books.

She passed away on January 14, 2002 at Boundary Trails Health Centre, at the age of 90 years.

She was predeceased by first husband Clifford C. Ridley in 1972, by second husband William Patterson, son-in-law Abe Hoeppner in 1999, and granddaughter Wendy Ridley in 1969.

She leaves to mourn her passing her daughter Audrey (Abe) Hoeppner of Morden; son Lyle and wife Marilyn Ridley of Flin Flon; grandchildren Wanda and husband Wayne German; Myron and wife Emily Ridley; Jamie and husband Keith Lindgren; Darrel and wife Gloria Hoeppner; Deborah Bruyere; David and wife Candice Hoeppner; 12 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; and 1 brother John of Spokane, Washington.

Funeral service was held Friday January 18, 2002, 2:00pm at Christian Life Centre, Morden with Pastor Paul Krymusa officiating.  Interment followed at Hillside Cemetery, Morden.  Donations may be made to Gideon Memorial Bible Plan.
