Cory Heide

1969 – 2002

It is with great sadness and deep sorrow, after a bravely fought battle with cancer, we announce that Cory, surrounded by his loving family, passed away on October 26, 2002 at the St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 33.

Cory leaves to celebrated his life his wife Isabel, stepchildren David and Jasmine of Winnipeg, his parents Herman and Anne Heide of Hochfeld, MB, his brother Wes (Tammy) of Winnipeg, his sisters Cecilia (John) Fehr, and their children Brendyn, Kyndrielle, and Miekeala of Morden, and Cheryl (Michael) Kehler, and their children Steven, Joshua and Jeremy of Morden and numerous  uncles, aunts and cousins. Cory was predeceased by his maternal grandparents David and Anna Wolfe, his paternal grandparents Herman and Maria Heide and his nephew Jonathan Mark Fehr.

Cory was born August 8, 1969 in Winkler, MB, and moved to Winnipeg in 1985. Cory was baptized upon the confession of his faith on September 3, 2002 and married on October 4, 2002. Cory will always be remembered for his gentle and loving ways. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend who loved to spend time with his family and friends. Cory was hard working, and work for 12 years at the Heatrans Radiator Ltd and it was here that he made many lifelong friends. Although his life was shortened by his illness, his spirit was strong until the end. We will miss him dearly.

Funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 30, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at the Evangelical Mennonite Mission Church, 600 Southview Drive, Winkler, MB. Interment followed at the Winkler Cemetery.

On behalf of Cory his family gives heartfelt thanks to all the staff of Cancercare, Drs. Navratnum, Chowdry and Sisler, the chemotherapy nurses especially Olie, the Palliative Home Care Staff, and Pastor Dale Dueck.
