Colleen Anora Renton

1959 – 2005

On Sunday, July 24, 2005 at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, Colleen Renton aged 45 years, of Winnipeg, went to her eternal rest.

Born in Morden, MB she graduated from the Morden Collegiate Institute in 1978.  Colleen then continued her education in The Pas, MB where she earned her Phase ll Dental Assisting.  Her first job took her to Grande Prairie, Alberta.  This lead to a 3 year move to Marina Del Rey, where she obtained her Interior Design Certificate at the University of California.  Returning to Winnipeg to work for the Royal Bank of Canada as a loans officer; education called again and she received her Certified Financial Planning Degree working for “Money Concepts” and the Bank of Montreal.  She completed her work at 2 independent firms.

Colleen was very active in all sports throughout her life and continued to enjoy working out at the Seven Oakes Wellness Centre.  She loved the flowers on her yard and her weekends were spent working at her sister’s greenhouses in Morden.  Colleen loved to read and most important was her time spent visiting with anyone and everyone “putzing” with her go cup was a priority and summers were spent fishing in Ontario and Northern Manitoba.  Colleen also shared a special bond with her nephew, Torrie and he loved her like a second mother.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her beloved husband, Gary Milne of Winnipeg; 1 step-son, Lee Milne; 4 sisters, Debra and Gerald Libbrecht of Wanless, MB and their children Robert and Derrick, sister Cindy and Abe Froese of Winkler and their daughter, Amanda and husband, Josh, Kim and Lorne Zacharias of Morden and their son, Torrie, Brenda and Howie Sanderson of Kaleida and their children Amy and Rachel; numerous aunts and uncles as well as 1 great nephew, Rory Libbrecht.

She was predeceased by her mother, Audrey and step-father Orval Kinsman.

Cremation has taken place.  A family memorial service was held on Thursday, July 28, 2005 at 2:00 pm at Wiebe Funeral Chapel on Thornhill St. in Morden, MB with Jake Friesen officiating.  Burial will take place at a later date.
