Anne Groening

1922 – 2002

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.

On Thursday, August 8, 2002 at the Boundary Trails Health Centre, Anne Groening went to her eternal rest.

Mom accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior and was baptized upon the confession on her faith on May 29, 1947, by Bishop Peter Toews of the Sommerfeld Church. Mom was a faithful member of the church until her passing.

Mom leaves to mourn her husband of 54 years, Jake Groening, three daughters, Hilda and Gerald Schroeder of Morden, Dianna Scott of Winnipeg and Sheila and Bruce Haynes of Brandon. Daughter-in-law Shirley Groening of Morden and three sons, Gord and Helen Groening, Terry and Eva Groening and Kim and Arlene Groening all of Morden, 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 3 sisters.

Mom was predeceased by her son Norm in 1998, son-in-law Gerald Scott in 1990, 1 grandson in infancy and 3 brothers.

Funeral service was held on Sunday, August 11, 2002 at the Morden Sommerfeld Church in Morden with Rev. Peter Wiebe officiating.

Interment followed at Hillside Cemetery in Morden.

Peacefully sleeping, resting at last

Your weary trials and troubles are past.

In silence you suffered, with such patience you bore

Till God called you home to suffer no more

“God be with you, till we meet again”.
